Fang Xu
Xu Fang
b. 1987, Chinese
Artist, graduated from the Sculpture Department of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2013, now lives and works in Princeton and Beijing.
Fang Xu is already widely regarded as a promising sculptor in the Chinese contemporary art world. He has won many important sculpture awards in China, and his works have been collected by Chinese and foreign institutions and individuals such as German-Chinese Young Artists Development Fund, Changchun Songshan Harrong African Art Collection, Changchun International Sculpture Park. Some of his works have been selected for the "Star Project — Young Contemporary Artists Exhibition" and participated in a tour of Japan and South Korea.
According to media reports, Fang Xu's works carry the Cubist spirit of Picasso and the significance of expressionism, which can be said to be the spirit of The Times of Picasso, Brancusi and Giacometti throughout the past hundred years, and be transformed into the best representative of modern sculpture.
